At the recent EAC Coin Sale there were many beautiful coppers but very few that I could afford. I did get this one and am interested in what you think of the coin and please guess the grade. I'll post the grade on Wednesday.

I think the EAC catalog was exactly right on this one! Nice pick up. I was out bid on every attempt I made, I bid on around 8 items or so. Internet issues were definitely an issue for me, the auction kept dropping off and freezing. Hopefully they get it fixed for next year.

Thanks to everyone who responded with comments and grading.

PCGS AU53 and EAC grade is XF40. I bid on several 179? cents but wasn't able to get close to winning. I noticed that rarity played into the price more directly than I'm used to seeing. Probably because many members are looking to buy all or more die varieties for their collections?

guess I am more of an EAC grader with my xf-40 guess. Very nice coin but for me it has too much wear around the ear to be AU. N-2 has same obverse as N-40. By the position of small lumps on bottom of E in ONE and the small lump on last A in America I think PCGS got it wrong calling it N-2. I feel the reverse says its N-40. Higher rarity for that one.
