Good afternoon everyone!

$20 Federal Reserve Note - error is in a date 2001

Please tell me if this is an error and how much it may cost.

Thank you!

What error are you seeing in the series date? It looks pretty normal to me.

The serial number is mildly interesting, but probably not enough to net a premium.

To the CCF

Not really what would be considered an error, just a minor ink smear.
If you look at the word private, you will see numerous smears, just part of the printing process.
As far as cost, seeing that it is a 20 dollar bill, I would say then that it would cost $20.00

If you found the note that was serial numbered 556 notes higher (77777777) then you would have something pretty cool and valuable. Solid serial numbered notes command a pretty high premium.

Keep looking!

Very minor ink spatter. but noticeable because most collectors inspect the series date when evaluating a note. The spatter makes the "1" look like an "L". It's kinda cool. If I found it in circulation, I might be tempted to keep it as a conversation piece, but I wouldn't pay anything above face to own it.

You know you have gotten down to the brass tacks with US paper currency when SteveinTampa has weighed in. No one is more of a respected expert.

ChristSerg and hope all is well in the Ukraine!
