The 8 in the date on this coin looks like the B in liberty is this a error?

Coin contact in circulation, vending machine damage or counting machines. Damage happens out there while the coin is just doing it's job.

Not an error. The 8 has been reshaped long ago--either by a random circulation hit (it does happen) or by someone intentionally. Copper is a relatively soft metal--can be reshaped rather easily.

Ty I suppose the E under states on back is just faded then? Weird how it's the only letter fadded

b]Take a closer look at those devices. Note they appear wider/taller than normal? Then it is a struck through partial grease error. No premium for this either.
