Hi guys I was wondering what's going on with this 1981 Lincoln. It looks like someone took a shot gun to him but from the inside. Is this a die problem. Because I know that 81 was a transition year. Thanks.

No error, just damaged. 1982 was a transition year for the composition for the cent, but nothing in the minting process could result in this.

Post strike damage. May have been run over in a parking lot years ago--just run over, not dragged or scrapped.

Believe it or not, that is sand pock marks on the coin. Not a plus for the coin.
