Hello everyone,I have a 1988 P Roosevelt dime that has a double- edge,if I'm using the correct term. Where it is double-edged,on the face of the dime, the side is lower than than the left side. The back of the dime seems normal as far as I can tell. Can anyone give me any information on if this is a normal thing, an error, or what type of coin this is? It's a keeper regardless! Thank you, and it's much appreciated!

That is called a Misaligned Die ( MAD)
Fairly common, only has extra value if part of the devices run off the edge.

Yes looks like a minor MAD to me too.

Another cause for this is a tilted die issue. (which I think because of Machine Doubling, this is affecting the coins between the strike, but not always the same way) These will have a fin on the rim, like your coin, but most often they will be flattened after they are struck by coin wrapping tubes, flattening them. When the fin is still on the dime, it will make the rim taller on that area:

The fins are very thin and most of the time they are flattened quickly. Your on that area look wider than normal. So if we could see if the rim is taller on that area, that would be helpful. Note on the images above what I'm looking for. (The edge image) If yours is not like that it maybe a fin from a tilted die issue?

Take your time. Same them to go back over as you will learn that you were not saving things you haven't learned about yet. SO don't rid of them until you know you got them all figured out. Sometimes new ones will go back over them several times before turning them loose.
