@champ, it sounds like you are saying that this coin is a little bit cup-shaped. I don't think that is a mint error, but rather some sort of damage after the coin left the mint. Can you please take and post an edge-view as these two pics don't really show much of the cupping. Thx.

The concavity around the edge is normal. I'm not seeing anything beyond that, though.

The rims are raised higher to protect the devices. When the rims wear down, then the devices go away:
