I have found 3 examples of this error, so I know this is legitimate. I am sharing here to help spread awareness for other collectors. I have done some online searching to see if I can find anyone else that has noticed this, but since I didn't find anyone else, I guess I will be first to share.

Looks like just die polishing marks to me. What do you think it is?

Is that your fingerprint? If so try acetone.

Whatever it is, it's too minor to be of any numismatic interest

At this point I'm thinking die polishing scratches/abrasion--maybe. Yes, that obverse fingerprint doesn't help.

Side note. I really like the new/old obverse of these coins. The first one I saw kinda surprised me. Be really cool with a DDO.

Feeder Finger Damage is deep:

Feeder Finger Damage affects the design. Die scratches usually only affect the fields. (More of a controlled accident)Feeder finger damage is more like a crashing car during an accident. (not controlled)
Note the feeder fingers below:
2021-P-Quarter---Feeder-Finger-Damage
Note how they were flat and narrow. Note on the affected feeder fingers, how they are flattened, widened. SO traveling through a tight space, something is going to have to give.

Found this 2021 Washington Crossing Quarter with Feeder Finger Damage and a small Cud near his coat. This was found in change. So there is some handling damage.

@moose59 please create a new thread. As I said to the original poster, the feeder fingers/die abrasion are far too minor on your coin to be of any numismatic interest. As for the "cud," Cuds are only Cuds if they involve the rim of the coin. That would be a minor die chip, which typically wouldn't carry any value unless it were major.

Isn't it pretty much the same as the OP's coin? If so, it's fine right here.
