I've been looking at PCGS Top Pop for a 1900-P Indian Head. Though I don't think I have a contender to replace it, I do think this one is much better than 64/65.

I see MS67RD on PCGS with quite a few scrapes on high spots. It also appears that the strike on mine is more crisp.

Without going to PCGS I quick-guessed this one as a good 64+. After seeing 66 and 67 images on PCGS I'm starting to think mine would grade into 66.

66RB would not surprise me, but it would need strong luster.

While maybe too many, I'd say the photos are great. I'd see MS66 as attainable.

It could go 66. I'm in at 65 though.

Beautiful coin! Hard to judge from just pictures. Really needs to be assessed first had under proper lighting. We know that grades of 69 and 70 weren't attainable during that era. 67 and 68 would have to be exceptional and I think full red color in my opinion. I am thinking more like 65 RB from what I see here which is still a very respectable grade. I don't give out 65 much as I try to be conservative but this looks like it fits the bill.

UNC Details Recolored. That shade of orange is unnatural.

Edit: You asked why to the previous respondent. Compare the color of your coin to the color of mine below.

I can't speak to the color, even if the photos were true to life I wouldnt know any better

Grade wise, I would put this at a 65 RB. However, looking at PCGS examples like you say, I can see how you would think this is a 66 or better. Purely going on how I have learned to grade coins though, I sit at 65

I wouldn't give too much credence to color without seeing it in hand. Photographic techniques, photo editing, image processing software and just the screen you are viewing this thread on are affecting the color for better or worse.

Echidna -- I wonder how our grading abilities would hold up if each of us were able to view the coin in-hand, vs static digital imagery? Spruett001 (above) makes a good point.

I definitely don't know how to grade, that's why I asked. Trying to figure out why this one is cleaned so I can spot it in other ones.
