This 1941 penny has seen better days, but is it just PMD or is this a clip?
Don't see the Blakesley effect, any ideas.

The obverse looks like a clip, the reverse looks questionable. Are these two area opposite each other? I feel it is a clip, but seems odd we are not seeing the same thing on both sides of the coin. Triple clips can be different in sizes, same for double clips. Thus the first question I asked? The reverse reminds me of a coin that lost the coin flip and hit the cement. (Again the first question theory)

@coop,
The two areas are not opposite from each other.

Image seven answers my question. Note the cut on the clip. It is stronger on one side, than on the other. The images answered my question. But they are opposite each other. The clip is stronger on one side than the other. First time I've seen that before. I'll have to add some of these images tomorrow, when I'm on my computer.

So is it or isn't it? I thought it was but then the other side looks like a fold over?

Looks good for a clip. The reverse is off looking because of circulation damage.

Picture #7 is throwing me off. It doesn't look like the clips I'm used to seeing, smooth but not flat. So if it is one then it's a cool new example to me. The other pictures do look convincing.

IsThisAnything , the line you see in the middle of the edge is actually one of the indicators of a true curved clip.
When a blank is punched from the sheet coin metal it isn't just pushed through. The blank is cut so that there is a ridge of metal in the center of the edge

Note the device on 'LI' on Liberty, that looks like a clip. But with the clip uneven (as most clips are cut through vertical) the reverse looks odd. But if this is actually a straight clip with uneven edges, that would still make it a clip, it would still leave the obverse Liberty weaker, but yet leaving the reverse mostly looking normal. (Slight weakness on the outer wheat grains line) So I feel this is a straight clip. All this time I was thinking a curved clip, but it is not.
