I'd bet that fingerprint is much more pronounced than the photo shows, especially since the fields are so overexposed.

Agree, pics are too overexposed to get a good feel for the surfaces. Pass for me.

I don't understand this recalcitrant behavior of the LCS.

After playing with the images, this is what I got. Looks to have a fingerprint and what is either toning or staining, can't tell from here.

This may just be me, but I think if it is a large dealer or coin conglomerate, and a raw coin, if it was worth it, they would have it slabbed.

If the coin had a decent shot at 63 or higher it would be worthwhile to get it slabbed. The fact that they didn't do so hints that the quality is sub-par.

I think Grape is right on the money with this proof dime, PR61 or even details Proof impaired. It's a common proof and lots of them out there even nice ones in lower proof grades. wait until there is one with better color photos, check Great Collections and Heritage/Stacks/Goldberg's/Kagins, etc. At least you'll be a happier buyer, in the long run, I'd bet.

I had purchased a few coins from them in the past and I didn't care for their grading standards. One purchase was a 1892 Barber quarter that was supposed to be Unc, but it had zero luster and too much obvious wear that if you matched it with photograde you would conclude XF. I sent that one back.

First thing that bothers me immediately... Why the heck is this not in a slab? It's not typical to see raw early proofs and if you do, you have to wonder why. You have to wonder, is the seller hiding something and the Proof won't grade straight or is the seller trying to get more out of the coin by overgrading it? Finally, you can have a naïve seller who's willing to leave money on the table.

I feel definitely a proof.....but you may want to be paying half the asking price since it's not slabbed....There's a reason for that.
