@myl, can you please share why you think that this quarter is special? At least from these pics, it looks pretty normal to me.

Added: Ok sounds like there might have been an after-market gold wash put on this coin and now it starting to wear away in circulation.

Looks more experimented *with* than experiment-al... Just after market plating would be my guess as well.

Or be carried too long in a woman's purse. The makeup adds sparkle to coins.

I assure you this quarter has been in no purse lol ,,,,it has no wear and tear and I know it doesn't show in the pictures but it is totally gold on the tree side and totally silver with gold specks on the face side... I did a little research and ran into an article about experimental coins struck on Sacagewea plantchets ,,, when this one came up... It never should have made it out the mint... Its beautiful in person ... It has all the necessities it should possess...weight rim etc....I mean ...u can see the gold in the dark...this was done at the mint I assure you...

You took it out of the OBW (Original-Bank-Wrapped) roll? This is a coin over 20 years old. It has been a purse before if you did not open the roll.

Given the photos posted, I'm seeing a common, circulated '99 P Connecticut quarter. If you feel certain of what you have, suggest you submit it to a reputable, recognized third party grading service. If you do, let us know what the outcome is. Thanks.

It seems to have to much dings on it to be uncirculated. I see most of them on he obverse. I would need clearer photos to tell otherwise. For example the dings under the am of America.
