Twice now I get a message from the Bay management saying that a checkout was incomplete! Well, I never started a check out on the particular item, I just put it on my watch list. So what gives? This is the message from ebay This is the item on my 'watch list' make note that it is NOT my cart...

Interesting. I always have dozens of items in my watch list and have never been 'prodded' by ebay. Ever.

What do you see when you click on "View Item"? Does ebay show you as the winning bidder? Quote:I always have dozens of items in my watch list and have never been 'prodded' by ebay. Ditto.

This is the first tome ebay sent me a message And this is what I get when I click on the 'view item' link So is this a new tactic to get sales?

as you can see, the item shown after I click the link leads me to an item I NEVER had on my list.. If you look in the box with the ! and some text in it (just above the 'PR66 1962 25C Washington Silver Proof Quarter, PCGS Secure- Beautifully Toned') you can see in small print the 1937 proof Washington quarter from the previous page where the link was...

I've had this happen when I add something to the cart, but then don't buy it. Adding it to the cart does not oblige you to purchase, so ebay starts sending you encouragement to complete the purchase. I think if you delete the item from the cart, they'll stop bugging you.

Ok, I can 'buy' that explanation, but why lead me to an item I did not look at?

Dearborn... unrelated photo tip... You are using Windows 10... try using [WIN] [SHIFT] [S] to get a screen capture instead of taking photos of your screen. It will be much easier for us to see.

This happened to me once too. I just ignored it and someone else bought it.

ignoring it is easy, getting their messages is annoying, and Now, I feel like I walked into a used car lot and getting bombarded by sales persons.

I've got 16 items in my cart (some for years now) and 175+ items on my watch list (some sold/ended items for quick reference on prices) and have never received a message like that from ebay....Maybe they know your an impulse buyer....

Quote: .Maybe they know your an impulse buyer.... LOL maybe. But I have been an ebay buyer for well over 15 years now, and this week is the first time I got these.. Is it things to come? A peek into the future of ebay?
