Here I have a 1996d with a step in front of Lincoln's eye. Is it Die Deterioration or Machine Doubling? What do you think? I don't know.

Believe it or not, that is a normal eye. Most of the time, this small feature is overlooked, worn away by abrading the die or not seen because of die state.

Yup, that's just a part of the normal design.

A Question: Are there any web references (or other) that show every single detail of the Lincoln Cent design and, perhaps, name them?

No, but I guess there could be. I'll consider adding it to coppercoins.com
