Seeing it now, the 2 appears to be kind of smashed over to the left and that would most likely be the result of a Coin Wrapping Machine. Just damage, I believe. Do you have a pic of the entire coin?

Mechanically pushed metal--mechanical coin wrapper, counting machine, or old school vending machine. We see two or three of these monthly.

Vending machine damage rather than a wrapping machine, I'd guess.

I'm guessing with the angle of the damage how it is almost always parallel to the rim, and the date, a Gumball Machine is probably the case. Still a Wheat cent.

Welcome.

I agree on the "2" being smashed. However you might want to look very closely at the "D" mint mark. Hard to tell, but looks like possible repunched mint mark. Look up that year/mint on variety vista to see examples.
