Photos posted are bit soft (perhaps low resolution). Given what's shown, I see a normal, common '97 D quarter--maybe not heavily circulated as some, but common.

Could be a strong strike and little to no wear.

It really is a little unusual besides just being in nice AU.

I believe it was very well struck by fairly good dies but there was grease on them near the middle of both sides. "Good dies" usually just means they are nearly new and well adjusted and strong strikes can have multiple causations but typically the pressure of the press is a little higher. Grease fills in the low spots of the die so the high points are unstruck.

While the date has lots of nice strikes this coin will look a little different next to them.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
