I'm about to submit a group of coins to PCGS. Among these, will be a 1944 D/S Lincoln OMM-1. So I'm guessing this will be stated on the holder once attributed I know this question sounds silly and I should know this but I have never submitted a coin to PCGS for Variety Attribution. According to their website, they are nailing you for $24 on top of the submission fee! I guess the question I should ask my self is how bad I want the holder to have the attribution on it Also, will it state Coneca,Wexler,Crawford? Thanks.

Hi Dave,
You can email PCGS customer service to ask about the specific designation; they will tell you whether they will put that information on their slab. In general, I think they only do " Red Book" listed varieties, plus major VAMs and Bolander numbers for silver dollars. I see that the 1944 D/S cent is listed in my 2008 Red Book so I expect they would attribute it. I'd check with them just to make sure before plunking down the grading fee.

Good luck, and please post some photos!

They will probably only attribute it as 1944 D/S. They probably will not state which OMM it is and probably will not include any other attribution designations.

Check here: http://www.pcgs.com/VarietyFAQ.htm

They will only designate it as a D/S, and I think they will designate it free of charge. I don't have my PCGS numbering book handy, but I seem to recall that most major varieties are listed and therefore will be stated on the holder free of charge. I know that when I submit bust halves, all the overdates and major varieties are listed on the holders without any additional fees.

That's why I was asking. I have seen the OMM-01 & OMM-02 with just the 1944 D/S on holder. Okay, thanks guys.

I'd like to know how you're managing this, because us common folk pay $24 extra each for attribution.

PCGS attributes Lincolns by FS numbers only. This one, being designated FS-01-1944D-501, should theoretically be able to be attributed on the slab.
