There is much more wear on the reverse than the obverse .VF-35 .

photos are not the best but it appears to be in the VF30/35 range. I'm leaning 35 as the obverse is stronger than a 30

Seems to me the LIBERTY headband should have sharper upper and lower edges for VF or better. I'm at F-15 based on these images.

A good example of why you can't always rely on LIBERTY for grading.

I am in the VF30-35 range as well.

In Australia, in all of my collecting experience, I have yet to see my first Barber Half in MS-60 or better.
I assume this type and denomination saw lots of circulation.

They did circulate well, like all Barber denominations, but these can be had in lower MS grades for very reasonable prices.

I have this 1894-S half, graded VF-30 in an old small ANACS holder. Seems clearly to be higher grade than the OP coin. Just sayin'!

Tougher depression-era San Francisco date. Strike quality is an issue for these coins. I'd like to see better photos, but IMHO it looks in the upper VF range (30-35). If it straight grades at 30 or 35, you did well on the price. At VF-35, you are in at wholesale. It's at least an RBI double if it hits 40. Everything depends on what is lurking in the shadows and the surface crud.

Appear to be VF-25. VF-35 need to have LIBERTY complete.

I'll stay at VF-35 tops. This is not an EF coin on either side.
