Its got to be an error because it had to of happened during the minting process I'm pretty sure.its a 1980 1c penny with the 0 of 1980 having something wrong with the die I'm assuming at the point of the stike of the coin. Or is it something different that happened. And what would be the difference between a die clash and what happened to this 2019 shield penny.thank you.

Not an error, it is PMD. It is from a coin counting/wrapping/vending machine.

Have to agree with John1.
It's PMD. You can see how the metal has been deformed by a hit of some kind.

Damage is damage, no matter how it happens. It is altered from what it looked like after the strike happened. Not a plus for a coin. If damaging coins increased the value, there would be no change left to circulate.
