Hello everyone!
I've already had the pleasure of meeting some of you that responded to a question I had posted the other week. I just figured it was time to officially introduce myself to the rest of the community. I'm from Northeast Pennsylvania, about an hour from the Poconos. I have a love for music, especially rock from any era, hence the name.
About a year ago or a little more I started becoming interested in coins. At first I thought it would be a good way to earn some money, although I haven't sold a single coin yet.
Once I started learning about the different things that can increase or decrease a coins value and the numerous errors and varieties that can also be found, I realized it was going to be a lot more work than most people initially think. I noticed some people on
ebay didn't even take the time to finish watching a video or reading an article on the coins they were buying and selling. (Seeing regular early
Roosevelt dimes with no mintmark selling for ridiculous amounts especially get to me.)
So here I am with a ton of coins accumulated, better understanding of numismatics, and I'm ready to start cherry picking coins to sell and to start curating a collection of my own. I still have so much to learn and I still struggle with identifying whether something is damage or an error. But with my determination, love and appreciation of coins, and the information and support from this awesome community my knowledge and expertise can only grow.
So I look forward to learning, sharing, conversing, with all of you. I look forward to gaining experience and contributing to the community. Thank you all for making CCF such an inviting place for a novice like myself.
