I kinda want to bid on this Half Cent but the shape of the stars looks very different to me. There is only one variety of the 1810 that I know of - the C-1.
Am I seeing things or are the stars OK ?

This is a rather poor fake.

I agree it looks counterfeit. The stars are wrong, the date position is incorrect, and the reverse is wrong as well.

I see it is back. I bought from that seller I think years ago.

Never mind, it still shows but says it was ended and not removed.

I know this seller for selling problem coins without really making it clear as such, but I doubt they would intentionally sell a counterfeit coin. It was likely ended because the seller was made aware of the fact that it was fake and ended it themselves

A $500+ coin opening for 99¢.
Why would anyone be suspicious?

This is a large volume seller who starts all his auctions at 99 cents, including several that recently sold for more than $500. The rest of his listings look legit, and I suspect he was unaware that this one was counterfeit.

He also ended the auction which took it back to the starting bid. (Assuming it had received bids)
