Here is a very clear and prominent example of a strike thru string.

I pulled this from an OBW roll I bought from my local coin shop.

I think it is very neat to be able to see the frayed edges of the string...just shows how hard these coins are actually struck.

i apologize for the incomplete photos of the entire coin...my current usb scope wont zoom out far enough to capture it all.

Cool looking. Nice find. The pressure of the dies must be intense. I found one struct thru a small thread a couple years ago.
