I have a 1982(small date) coin with a strange error. Or what I believe to be an error. I'm curious to learn what is wrong with this coin. I believe it weighs like a normal penny for that year. Either the 2.5 or 3ish grams. Don't know which one exactly, I just remember it weighing normal. Not like the 1.4g or whatever they usually are. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Your coin is just damaged.
There is no way that could happen during the striking of the coin.

Deliberate cut marks around Abe's head only? Yeah, it's post mint damage ( PMD). Weight is a giveaway as well.
