Need Help With Morgan 1884 - Coin Community Forum

wichm New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 06/16/2021 01:05 am I was looking through my great grandmothers coins and found this 1884 Morgan. I cannot tell if the mint is San Francisco or not. Looks like the S to me but I am not an expert and could be just hopeful. Thanks again and either way still a great coin. Report this Post to the Staff

Zurie Pillar of the Community United States 5661 Posts	Posted 06/16/2021 02:16 am I would not recommend paying to get it graded. As you may know, an 1884-S Morgan can be valuable in higher grades, but yours is no higher than VG, and it may have some surface damage. It would not add any value to have it graded.
