Hi Everyone,
I have a 1968 Kennedy half dollar with a circle indent on the front (I apologize as I am not quite sure what this is called). I was wondering if anyone could share their opinion as I am only a newbie to coin collecting. Thanks.

The coin looks like it was on the end of the roll when it was wrapped. The machine that crimps the paper around the coins made contact with this coin. The ring was caused as the machine turned and cut this ring into the surface. Sorry to say, but this is just a damaged coin now. PMD

It's only worth the melt value for a 40% silver half dollar or $3.88 with silver at $26.25 per ounce.

Yes, looks like damage from a mechanical wrapping machine. We see this on various coins every so often on this forum.

Agree, but save it for the silver value.

This one also looks plated. But as mentioned, it is a 40% silver melt coin.
