1999-P Connecticut Quarter Slight Off Center Strike

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/19/2021 09:25 am Not an off center. It's a MAD coin. The hammer die is slightly out of alignment. Not enough for a premium. Note how the devices fall over the edge of the coin? Also not how on the opposite side of the coin, there will be also weakness on that area. These are the collectable examples. (View this on my computer screen compared with the phone, makes me ask the same question that SamCoin asks. Lets see the edge of the coin to see the reeds?) You can see in the first picture of the rim how there is a medial line separating part of the edge that has been reeded from part that has not - that is caused by the collar die not being fully in place during the strike. Part of the coin receives the reeded edge as intended and part does not. Report this Post to the Staff

That was the areas where the collar wasn't. The areas showing the reeds is where the coin was in the collar. Report this Post to the Staff
