I am absolutely new to this and you help is much appreciated. I see on the mint stamping that should not be there. Face has what looks like an "U" on side of mouth, also on the cheek above it, and in the letters of liberty strike errors. on the reverse, the "P" in Plu is also bad. I am not sure if I should see at silver value or it is a good premium. Thank you for any help offered.

If you spend some time at error-ref.com, you can find pics and descriptions of legitimate errors to help determine things like this. BTW

Every error coin is worth if you collect them. Errors coins go from pre-mint errors, mint errors. Distinctive it is toning coins. ETC. I give the mains errors, and each of them has many sub categories.
It is up to you what you like and enjoy collect.

Well damaged coins are not errors. They are just the junkyard of the coin that still circulate. Damaged coins are usually just face value coins. But when they are silver the value is a lot more than face.

This dime is not a mint error, it has post mint damage ( PMD). It has value, but only as silver melt. If it was your Mother's coins, treasure them as part of your Mother, otherwise as far as errors go, this is not one.
