Sorry I don't have a photo just yet as I passed this 92' LMC to my father so he c of hold weigh it for me , becauze I'm guessing it's Alluminum planchet it was struck on. Extreamly fine MS condition, not a single scratch, dent , ding, f-print, no ware whatsoever! And possetivly NOT plated for details are too sharp! And as much as I was hoping to see A touching M, I'm short that little piece of heaven, but 99% possetive it will grade MS68 struck on an Alluminum planchet. Any good guesses for auction value? *** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

to the CCF! It's more likely that you are seeing the zinc core of the coin. We really need to see an image or two so we can help determine the value. It could be that the copper plating was missing when it was struck, or it may have been removed chemically. It also could be plated.

You say it is aluminum; to be able to agree with you, we need to know the weight.

Could be one of a few things, but the overwhelming odds are it is not an error. The three things that come immediately to mind are 1. it was plated with zinc as part of a science experiment (no added value), 2. it has been damaged by the environment and the zinc core is exposed (no added value), or 3. it was struck on an unplated zinc planchet (yes added value, but by far the least likely). I would say 99.9% chance it's some form of post mint damage and has no value above face.

If the weight is in the 2.5 grams range it is a normal zinc planchet. Less than One gram is the weight of an aluminum cent. So I'm guessing it is not aluminum, as what are the chances of one planchet of being one? So find out the weight to see what that is first.

Also, did the U.S. mint mint any foreign coins that year from aluminum? How else could it be a mint error? John1

We need the weight even though it is unlikely.
