There's no such thing as a " no mint penny". If a cent doesn't have a mint mark, it was minted in Philadelphia, except for 2017 which had a P to honor the 225th anniversary of the mint. There are a handful of proof coin denominations minted in San Fransisco that did not have the S mint mark and these are referred to as "no S". I don't know where this " no mint" stuff comes from but the absence of a mint mark does not confer value except in the rare case of certain proof coins.

I assume you're asking about the whole 1982 large date/small date bronze/zinc thing, and the 1982-D small date bronze is the only valuable one. Yours appears to be a 1982 large date bronze.

to CCF. We will need good clear photos with close ups sometimes to help you. With that pic I can not tell if your coin is a doubled die, sorry.

Given the single image posted, I'm not seeing evidence of a doubled die (obverse).

Here is a side by side of a normal coin and the DDO. The devices are even wider on the DDO:

Thanks to all! Everyone has been very helpful! Especially, coop! I love the arrows pointing things out, the side by sides and all of the links that coop post for reference.

Nothing against Pinterest, but I've learned, not always the case! I've bought books, but some aren't specific about error v. variety? Thanks to all!

P.S. this was probably one of my first posts, and I'm just seeing the other replies! I thought 1 comment, and I moved on... I'm on it now! Thanks again!

Yes. I believe that was one of the first post I ever made. I see the difference in the pic above. It's still mind boggling on some of the coins? Just not catching on!

I'm working on it! Thanks for the help! To answer the question about the no mint mark. When I was first learning the "lingo" and reading posts that others posted, that's how it was referred to in a lot of posts. But, I do understand now, that they're minted somewhere, obviously, but that was the only way I could relate at the time.

Now, I was thinking that with no MM, automatically meant that it's from Philadelphia? I was just reading about some coins being Minted in San Fran, but not marked either!

I'm going to have to go back and check out the dates! Does this apply to all US coins?

Well that is a not a blanket answer. Why? The Philadelphia mint struck all of the proofs through the years, until 1968. They started striking the proofs in San Francisco that year with the 'S' mintmarks on both business strike and proof strikes that year. The business strike cents with the "S" mintmark stopped in 1974. But up to 1980, all the Philly coins didn't have a mintmark on business strikes or proof coins. So in 1980, they added the 'P' mintmark on all the denominations except cents. So the Cent never had a mintmark for Philly until 1917:

That was an only one year event. So the cents still continue to not have mintmarks for Philadelphia except for the 2017-P.

The Philly mint has struck some proof coins like the 1999-P SBA dollar:

Also the West Point Mint still Strikes proof coins with the 'W' mintmark. But the Proof coins without an 'S' do bring attention:

Compared with a business strike you can see the proof with the 'S' easily.

Easy to see which on is the Proof and the business strike cents.
