Strange-US-Mint-Token-Found-CRH.-Need-Help-To-Identify
Strange-US-Mint-Token-Found-CRH.-Need-Help-To-Identify I found this in a bank box. It says us and it looks modern so I posted this here. My scale is not operational so I dont have a weight. Same size and seems to be on a copper cent planchet. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's a legit Denver mint token, found in uncirculated mint sets years ago.

These are also collectible on their own. A few bucks, like regular coinage dependent on condition.

Token was last produced in 1999, I believe, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

It weighs out 2.580. Battery's was the only thing out in my scale. I wonder how it got into that box?

These were in every regular mint set from 1984 to 1998. There are many ways they can accidently be put into circulation because they are made on zinc cent planchets.

Allegedly you can drop these tokens into a coinstar machine and it accepts them as a penny.

They do weigh the same. That's what coin star bases the denomination on.
