While scrolling through the Stacks Catalogue I noticed that they were offering the Childs-Pogue Dollar. Originally excluded from the 2016 Sale as the Pogue family wished to hold onto the coin, they decided to sell the coin. An incredible survivor and the finest known 1804 Dollar of any class. With incredible eye appeal it would be hard to argue, grade aside, that there is any more appealing 1804 Dollar. Last sold for $4.14M, estimates range from 8-11M with the PCGS Price Guide at $8.5M. The lot can be found linked below. I highly suggest reading the wonderful write-up provided by Stacks as it contains a wealth of information.

Yet another coin I won't be bidding on. The pedigree is quite interesting.

Hah! If I'm buying a proof draped bust dollar I'd either have to be this one or the Chapmen-Pogue example, and only after I hit the jackpot

@GrapeCollects, Thanks for posting this thread. The detailed history in the Stack's catalog is fascinating. The provenance items accompanying the coin are as interesting as the coin itself.

Wouldn't it be incredible to see a display assembling all of the known 1804 dollars! (Thinking of the five 1913 Liberty nickels display as the prototype here.)
