I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I cant seem to find a definitive answer. I found this 2012 S Gold Dollar, Grover Cleveland. Is it a proof that some how made it into circulation?

Does it matter? No. It's worth $1 regardless.

Even if only worth face value, I still like to set aside circulating proofs. For me, they are worth the opportunity cost and a 2x2.

Looks like it might have been a nice proof at the time of minting. Also I wonder if someone put it into circulation during the "great coin hunt of 2019"? with Spence, I too 2x2 any impared proofs I find and date the 2x2 for memories many years from now...

I'll definitely be keeping it. I collect to keep for myself. I don't even know the step to go about selling any. Its cool to find something nifty like this in circulation.
