Ok guys I found this coin hunting at first I thought it says 1959 but then look closer and turns out to be 39 is that 3 in 1939 damage or mint error or one of those rare counterfeit nickels peoples looking for?

There are more than a few "gals" here on CCF...just sayin'.
The counterfeit you speak of is called a Henning nickel,use search box upper left of page for lots of info.I see no error,just normal circulation bumps & bruises

It's a 3 ; Coins look like that when they have been in circulation for 82 years .

I had the same reaction for the first 1939 I found. The 1939 nickel might be the oldest coin one still has a reasonable chance of encountering in the wild.
