1971 D Penny Unknown Error - Coin Community Forum

Dbirge New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 07/17/2021 5:14 pm I came across this 1971 D penny and initially thought it was just damaged, but then I noticed an unmistakable W LL on the top of his head, under WE T. Am I crazy or is this an error I'm unfamiliar with? Report this Post to the Staff

If these were from the die, they would be raised and know to be part of the design. With devices not on the coin, what you are seeing is not a mint error. Report this Post to the Staff
