Here's a Seated Liberty quarter I picked up this week with some great eye appeal. Seller's photo. Let me know what you think about the quarter whether good or bad.....and give it a grade. Edited by DoctorBurnzy 07/28/2021 11:13 am

First photos suggest the coin has been cleaned and has re-toned. The Tru-Vu photo is more flattering. Looks like there is slight wear on the obverse high points and scattered hairlines in the obverse fields. Overall eye appeal is pretty nice. I'd guess this graded PCGS AU-55.

I'd say AU-53 with an old cleaning, but probably straight grade. Attractive toning.

AU Details Cleaned
I like the toning, but definitely looks like it had been cleaned in it's life. Also there is a little bit of wear on the high points.

Another beautiful coin!
The seller's photos are better than the PCGS photos (nothing new there). The 1857-O typically has an inconsistent strike. This one shows weakness on the head and right stars and on the eagle's right leg (our visual left). That needs to be factored in on the grading.
The obverse lines do suggest a very old cleaning, but that is clearly market acceptable. I don't see anything that would detail this coin.
I'm seeing mid-AU circulation here. The obverse looks AU-53, and the reverse AU-55. I think PCGS would net grade this down to AU-53, but it might trade higher on a bourse floor, especially if the in-hand eye appeal looks more like the seller's pics and less like the PCGS pics.
Bottom line, I'm on the 53/55 fence, but PCGS probably falls on the 53 side. Very nice coin.

I'm on the AU53/55 fence as well, wouldn't be surprised either way. Nice toning as well!
