Hello,
The medal is Japanese origin issued for the Russo-Japanese War Exposition held in Osaka in 1906. It is dated Meiji year 39. It says on the medal that it is a 3rd rank prize or award.

airmax90, fantastic information and I think the closest I have gotten to finding this medal's origin. When searching the Russo-Japanese War Exposition, lots of info on the war and something I noticed when reading. I do not know if 39 may have also been a reference to the parallel mentioned, it may just be a coincidence. Thank you for your help!

Nice work team!

Looks like we've got close enough that I can move this thread over to the appropriate subforum now.

Well thank you, airmax90, Brummagem and Spence! This is very cool and would like to thank all others with their input. Thank you for moving it to the appropriate place Spence. Any involved with helping, if there is particular coinage that you like, please let me know and I'll see if I have a fit. Thanks again, this has been a long time coming.
