I'm under the impression that the filled in b in Liberty is not a big deal but what is that on the back far right column? Is that post mint damage, if that is what that's called? Thank you for your patience wonderful people. Picture overload warning.

Thank you and thank you. This is the best online community ever. Truly, y'all are appreciated. I've learned more from your replies than the books I've bought and the people I watch and trust online.

this coin shows a die chip. When they occur on the outside edge of a building like this, they are sometimes call a 'Hornet's Nest' by some collectors.

I don't think so. It may just be part of the design that shows the columns that run down the side of the Lincoln Memorial. This shot shows what Frank Gasparro, the reverse designer, was going for.

Some are die cracks on the Memorial, others are as mentioned are chips. Just die events that look interesting to new collectors, while the seasoned collectors know that they are signs of an aging die and if the coin is a variety coin, they can be markers to ID a certain die.

It's a keeper though. For the first year of the Memorial reverse it sure is in excellent condition.

Again thank you all. I swear I've been on the variety sites and your responses are so much easier for me to understand.

Keeper I say no. They are so common on that area, there will never be a premium for these. New ones go gaga over them, but as they become seasoned collectors, then will wonder, why did I save these?

Sorry, I meant it was a keeper for future reference. I try to keep good examples of many things so I have something to look back at.
