Just pulled this out of a mixed roll of memorial cents. They were mostly circulated with a few BU coins in the mix. Likely just someone pulling better coins out of bank rolls but apparently not looking for varieties. 1972 Lincoln Memorial cent doubled die - DDO-003, FS-103 Stage-A    |

It's easier to get lucky at finding good stuff when you have a room full of coins to choose from to search. It'll slow down a lot once I'm stuck with off-year BU memorial rolls and circulated wheat bags, which is most of it.

Dearborn, well not exactly. I was on a run to my dentist today, stopped by a shop and bought another 2,000. The number keeps going up no matter how many I get through each night, and trying to do about 1000 a night right now.

The differences between the DDO-003 and the DDO-008 is this on the date. The 003 looks like the '2' is starting to make a muscle.  The 008 has the big guns on that area: |

I search all business strikes with a loupe, and all proofs with a scope. But the scope is set up right beside me so if the loupe shows anything fishy I can scope it in seconds.

Old school, I like it! Thanks for the reply. I started searching, well into the tech error and used a scope early on. I've tried to us a loupe but just can't make any time with it. I've noticed that the searchers, who put out numbers, use loupes though. I'm pretty fast with the scope but feel I could be faster with a loupe, if I could get used to it.
