to the CCF!

It's best to post only one coin per topic. It make it easier to follow the replies.

The first coin looks like a Lamination, and a good one. The condition of the coin will decrease the value, but it's a keeper. Let's see what an expert on laminations thinks.

The second coin looks like it was damaged, not a broadstrike. When a coin is pressed into a bezel or enclosure, it can damage and flatten the rims like this. No extra value, Post Mint Damage.

Nice lamination on the first coin. The second coin is a beveled / Encased Coin. The areas of the coin have been removed to fit in a case (edge cuts the L and is very close to the 2). Coin has since been removed and spent again.

1st coin is a de-lamination and the other is a former Encased Coin.

So I guess I'm confused on the die-break/lamination error. I can still see the left wheat ear and the "c&e" of cents. would that still be possible for a lamination error?

Ok thx for posting the diameter. Looks to be right about at 19 mm, which is what it should be. If it was broadstruck, then I'd expect I larger diameter. I think that the folks who called it as being an encased/damaged cent must be correct.
