A circulated $1 coin, my answer would be...Why bother,just spend it.
However since it is circulated you can try a Q-tip soaked in some nail polish remover(if you don't have any Acetone) and gently scrub the edge. For nicer coins always use Acetone and not nail polish remover.I only recommended NP remover because the value of the coin is only face value and most households will have NP remover on hand
