I thought Lamination at first. Then I saw coop's post on January 2019 about Feeder Finger Damage, and that is what I am seeing. I never seen it before so I'm bringing it here.

It is a lamination issue on both sides of the coin.

Thank you. Sorry Feeder Finger Damage usually seen from the top downwards on wheats. Was just curious because of the edge of the coin being damaged.

Feeder ringer damage in incuse on the coin during the strike:
Sometimes with a single or double line on Wheat cents:

On the OP's coin the coin was struck and after the strike the lamination peeled off the coins. The difference between a struck through and a lamination issue?
The laminations will show a ghost image of the was there after the strike, before the peel separated:

If something is struck through on a coin, there will be no ghost image.

No ghost image where the item was struck through.
