Yet another unlisted 1919-S rim Cud. I'm just going to have to kick myself in the behind this weekend and get some of this stuff off to JC.

Would doubt that. It is well raised above the rim. In the 2x2 it is bending the plastic cover noticably.

Congrats.
I noticed you seem to have cornered the market on 1919 rim Cuds. There are some nice ones.

A fin flattening would be the same height of the rim. This is taller than the rim. So in order for this to happen, a piece of the gutter had to break off the die:

Lower left image. Note the simulation of a breakaway off the gutter area. That breakaway will make the rim higher on that area. That is the difference.

I didn't set out to corner the market on these, but other than that funky one Chuck found on an off-center coin I seem to have discovered all the rest of them. Just seems like they come my way for some reason.

Nice rim Cud, I like it.

Update: This is now listed as CU-1C-1919S-11R. Of interest, another unlisted rim Cud for this date recently sold on ebay, but it went very high and I didn't win it. Hope the winner gets it listed.

Hmmm, I'll have to take a look at the one I won recently and start a thread.
