I got these at the bank when I went to get quarters for a roll hunt. My teller had a roll of dollars a lady had deposited sitting there so I asked for them also. It had 18 Eisenhower dollars (3-71s 4-72s 4-74s 1-77 and 6-bicentinnials) and these. Soooo cool, ill probably never get something like this again. I have more pictures to post also so I hope every one bears with me on my new found quest.

Truly incredible in 2021 to walk away from your local bank with 2 Morgan dollars in hand. Congratulations! Gives the rest of us some hope. Too bad the 1896-O is so beat up. You should see what a MS version of that coin will fetch!

Coin tracker says the 96 is any where from $30 to $140,000 ms+. The 21 is $28 to only $120 for ms+. Big difference between the 2 ms+ prices.

That is something else I would never expect from a bank these days.

The teller said it was an older lady turning in her deceased husbands coins. It wasnt bank stuff. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time I guess as the roll was still on her counter.

Fantastic finds! Maybe you should let the teller know to save any older coins or large dollars for you. Tellers usually don't mind holding stuff as long as you make regular trips and can pick up the items quickly.

I will do that. She actually was the manager and I let her know what I was doing. And one other there also helped fill my quarter quota. My bank guy was behind her waiting to talk to her as I was talking to him also about my $100 bills I have on ebay. It's my regular bank and I just started this but I will be back in Tuesday for another $1000 exchange and talk more to them about it. Sorry I'm a little long winded but I've worn out my wife and son talking about all of it. Haha.

I revived my interest in collecting about 7 years ago when my sister who managed a bank called me to see if I would be interested in getting some old silver dollars at $1 a piece. She had about 40 of them and split them with me. She didn't know what they were worth and at the time I didn't know for sure either. They were all common dates but it really sparked my obsession . The woman who turned them in said they were her deceased mothers and the local coin shop told her her they were worth face value?I don't think they bothered to look at them. I also got about 6 rolls of Franklin halves with the dollars also at face value.

Nice two of my first, a gift from my grandmother, were a 1921 and another O mint Morgan, the 1893. Was exciting to get my first Red Book and see that the O was quite scarce particularly for the grade. She got them for face at a bank in Nevada in the 1950's. Both AU or AU details. Haven't gotten them professionally graded.
