sheldius Pillar of the Community United States 1204 Posts	Posted 09/14/2021 11:50 am Steel 1943 Wheat cent weigh 2.7 grams and stick to a magnet. Maybe the 1943 has whatever on it that turns cents blackish (tannins, asphalt, etc.). So the 1943 D is a normal steel cent and weighs correct amount. There are no steel 1957 cents and should be 3 grams. As noted yours is a bit underweight. Report this Post to the Staff
