I found this gem in my register just a minute ago. I thought it looked cleaner than it is before I took the photos. About what would yall grade her at?

Nice find for face value. Grade XF to low AU

To clarify what appears to be a misunderstanding in your topic title - the 'W' seen on the obverse is the first initial of the coin designer last name ( Adolph Weinman).

If you look on the reverse to the right of ONE you'll see the 'S' mintmark making this coin a 1942-S that was struck in San Francisco.

I can't help with grading, but I did want to congratulate you on a super find in the wild. Well done.

Join the club! I feel this way about a lot of coin shots I take. Downside to grading via photos. Some show and exaggerate the most minute and irrelevant marks, others can hide them.

Grade wise, I'm in the AU camp, looks like it might have been cleaned/lightly polished at one point. Worth a small premium over melt. A great find in the wild!

cool find. AU58. not sure if the overall eye appeal due to all the field marks will knock it to AU55 or pull a details designation.
