1984 D LMC Ridge Ring Die Crack

Via CRH,, has slight MAD. I thought this was split plating at first but this is definitely a die crack. First I've seen like this so any info is welcomed. Reverse is scratched up pretty good with PMD.

Die crack=no
Cracked copper plating, IMHO.

Note the metal striation lines on the widened rim area. Looks like a very strong strike, splitting the plating on that side of the coin. It wouldn't surprise me if the coin was a bit wider than normal? Is the outside edge of the coin flat all around? I wondered it is was a partial collar?

Thanks gang but please take a closer look at this.

1. Look at the top of the "S" and "T", not just above but actually on top of the devices.

2. The curved line by the date has the characteristically irregular shape of a die crack.

3. yes there is some split plating on the coin.

But that is plating damage.

With split plating damage you usually see the zinc core exposed which I don't see here (MM exception).
