I see a coin struck from a tired die, circulation flattening, and MD on STATES. Let's see what others think.

Machine Doubling on the reverse. Not a doubled die. When you look at variety vista listings for DDOs, 1973 is pretty much the last listed year. On the reverse, about the same except for the class 9 DDRs on the reverse in areas most often miss. So check the post 2000 listings to see if your looking in the wrong direction?

Grushna, here are some very informative websites for you to learn from and compare your finds to.

Varietyvista.com
coppercoins.com
doubleddie.com
PCGS.com
NGC.com

(I think I got all of those website link spellings correct....)

Please use these websites and learn from them. They are great sources of information. Hope this helps.

Use the Search box above to find hundreds of past threads (with pics) on the different types of doubling.

@Grushna I highly suggest using a variety reference site like variety vista or Wexler's die varieties. It will greatly cut down on the number of misattributuons you make. Also, reading a general error and varieties site like error-ref will help you to better understand what types of errors are actually possible and what they look like.
