i think the new plastic coffee cans cans offer better protection
but I am not too sure that they may have some PVC in them

Then the thing to do is obvious. Only put PVC coins in those.

For years mine sat in boxes on a top shelf in a closet. But for fear of fire or theft I buried them in the backyard in aqua colored Ball quart canning jars. ( This method is called the Appalachian Fire proof safe)! For added security just add a couple of coon dogs!

I keep my folders of wheaties, silver rosies, quarters, etc on the bookshelf in the living room. the rest, my very small hoard of everything else rests in a canvas bank bag in the closet.
Rest in Peace

I keep mine buried 14 paces due West from the big Elm tree on 3205 Southwest 29th street. They are 4' 3-1/2" down with a layer of plastic and then gravel and then a sand layer, and then topped with regular dirt for proper drainage.
It's really rough when I get new stuff in and have to grab the shovel and lantern and head out under the cover of night to dig up and then rebury my collection........but .....security is EVERYTHING !!

No, actually, it's 21st Street.....not 29th .....Ha Ha tricked you !

Seriously, I voted for the Bank security boxes.......of which I have several....FULL.
I also have stuff all over the house too.......but not the higher end stuff.....ie Silver and Gold.....or Sets.

I gave up on storage and security and just asked my brother-in-law to keep them for me, he was happy to do it!

My coins are keep in 2 Gardall 3620 safes. This gives me 28980 cubic inches of storage for my coins. I started out with one but had to add the second one last year.
