I paid low AU money for this one. Wondering if the marks on Liberty will details the coin. Despite the marks, I really like the look of this coin. Thoughts? Thanks!

Personally, I find the marks on the nose and cheek distracting.

I'm more concerned about the hairlines going across the neck into the fields surrounding the date. I'm at AU Details

Hard to say for sure, but are the marks, other than the obvious one on the nose,on the coin or the flip? The marks are different in the two obverse photos, so it is either lighting or they are on the flip. JMHO

if those marks across the profile are on the coin I have to go AU55 details. they are in a crisscross pattern and indicative of someone cleaning the coin with some type of abrasive cloth or something
Rest in Peace

I'm going with AU-55 Straight . I don't think it was cleaned ,unless long ago and now market acceptable . Yes the cut on nose is detracting but in my opinion not a details coin .

I'd say AU details. The possible old cleaning on the reverse should get a pass, but the abrasions on the cheek and neck would probably detail it (unless by some chance they're on the 2x2).

AU details. The obverse scratches eliminate a straight grade I think.

I was AU Details cleaned on both coins. Your coin has strong eye appeal, but unfortunately it is showing signs of a cleaning. Nice photo.

There is some difference between a G/VG coin that looks acceptable, and an AU and well-detailed coin with dull sufaces, halos around stars/devices,
and visible hairlines near the date.

Yours is still a great coin with a lot of meat on the bones, and I think the surfaces look better than most cleaned coins.
