It nearly has anything printed on reverse wondering if it has a value and if I'm right about it being a filled Die?

Hello Dragg. Your Jefferson is not an error or variety whatsoever. I assure you it did not leave the U.S. Mint in this condition. Someone with too much time on their hands removed the details and devices on the reverse. This is not a filled die or " Greaser" as we call it. Just post mint damage.

Wouldn't it weight less if it was altered?

There are Weight Tolerances for every U.S. coin struck. You did not supply the weight of your coin in your post so I do not know what the weight of your coin is. Regardless, your coin has been somehow altered after it left the mint so weight is not even a consideration here.

Agree with all above--post strike damage, most likely of an intentional nature. Interesting find.

These seem to pop up the Forum from time to time.
The fact that the rim is partially missing tells you it was intentionally done.
If it was a Greaser, there would still be a full rim. Value 5 cents.

Agree, most likely deliberate damage.

Someone has taken it to a belt sander and spun it around to get this effect.

For what it's worth, the damage to this coin may not necessarily be caused by a deliberate act...I have retrieved many a coin that look just like this from the deep recesses of my washing machine. Definitely not a mint error, though. And yes, it will most likely weigh less than the acceptable tolerances for the coin in question, depending on the amount of damage, and especially if both sides are affected.

You could say it's "laundered money".

Just thought I'd throw in my 2¢, and since I'm new here and have yet to set up a signature (or anything else), I'll simply bid you "Good day" and be on my way.
