Can anyone tell me what is going on with this coin? The 2 sides are drastically different.

The reverse has been removed after it left the mint.
Just a damaged coin now.

Lack of rims on the reverse tells us it was not a mint error. Definitely post mint damage. Nice curiosity coin, but no premium I'm afraid.

Note the obverse Rim? That tells me when it was struck the reverse had one. But it was removed. Someone trying to create a mint error. When he realizes he failed, what to do with it. Oh yeah, spend it. You found it.

If you're so inclined, drop it in a 2x2 as a curiosity.
